Description | Isopropanol is used in the manufacture of scrubs, hand and body lotions, preservatives, and pharmaceutical redness agents. Isopropanol is also used as a solvent for oils and colloids, and in the manufacture of fishmeal feed concentrates. Low-quality isopropanol is used in automotive fuels. The use of isopropanol as a raw material for acetone production is decreasing. Several compounds are synthesized from isopropyl alcohol, such as isopropyl ester, methyl isobutyl ketone, isopropylamine, diisopropyl ether, isopropyl acetate, thymol, and many esters. Different quality isopropyl alcohol can be supplied according to the end use. The normal mass of anhydrous isopropanol is more than 99%, while the special grade isopropanol content is more than 99.8% (for flavors and drugs). |
