Preparation method:
M-methylbenzoic acid was synthesized from m-xylene by oxidation and distillation. In the oxidation process, the air oxidation method was used and the soluble cobalt salt catalyst was added. The weight percentage of the catalyst was 0.09-0.12%. The reaction temperature and pressure were controlled from 110 to 150 C and 0.2 to 0.4 MPa. In the distillation process, the vacuum degree is 0.06-0.08MPa when the temperature is heated to 200-220 C. The above-mentioned oxidation reaction belongs to the chain reaction of free radicals.
