Tianjin Customs Seized 181.5 Tons Of Waste Powder Coating

- May 18, 2019-

Recently, Dongli Customs, which is owned by Tianjin Customs, seized 181.5 tons of prohibited solid waste during the inspection of the goods with the name of “dry powder putty powder”.

During the inspection, the customs staff found that there was no detailed information such as product name, manufacturer, and factory address on the package of the ticket, and the actual traits of the article were far from the traits of the declared “dry powder putty powder”. The actual powder coatings recovered after disposal belong to the “expired and discarded paints and paints” in the Catalogue of Prohibited Imported Solid Wastes in China.

Compared with waste paper, scrap metal, and waste plastics, the waste powder coatings seized this time are uncommon types of solid waste, which are concealed and confusing. This is the first time such items have been seized in the Dongli Customs area. The Customs Department reminded that according to the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Wastes" and other relevant laws and regulations, the import of solid waste prohibited from entering the country will be investigated for legal responsibility.

Petroleum Resin C9, 2-Methylanthraquinone and Titanium dioxide both main material of coatings , paints.
