Description : Ammonium chloride is an inorganic and a white crystalline salt that is highly soluble in water. Easy hygroscopic and caking. Solutions of ammonium chloride are mildly acidic.
It is mainly used as fertilizer and a flavouring agent in some types of liquorice. It is the product from the reaction of hydrochloric acid and ammonia.
Ammonium chloride is mostly a by-product of the alkali industry. Containing 24% to 26% of nitrogen, it is white or slightly yellow square or octahedral small crystal, both powdery and granular.
1. Granular ammonium chloride is not easy to absorb moisture and is easy to store.
2.Powdered ammonium chloride is more used as a basic fertilizer for the production of compound fertilizer. It is a physiological acid fertilizer. It is not suitable for application on acid soil and saline-alkali soil because it contains more chlorine. It should not be used as seed fertilizer, field fertilizer or foliar fertilizer. It is also not suitable for avoiding chlorine crops (such as tobacco, potato, citrus, tea tree, etc.).
Ammonium chloride is used in rice fields with high fertilizer efficiency and stability, which is conducive to the formation of rice stem fiber, increase toughness, and reduce rice lodging and insect invasion. Therefore, it is used as a crop fertilizer, and is mostly used for crops such as rice, wheat, cotton, hemp, and vegetables; it has increased fiber toughness and tensile strength and increased quality for cotton and linen crops.
